Biblical Sex Education

Teaching your kids sex education can be intimidating. My kids are homeschooled so they really had no influence of sex talk. Usually, kids in school go through some sort of sex education through their school or hearing it from peers.

When it became time to discuss the “birds and the bee’s”, my husband and I were scrambling. We knew we wanted to teach it from a biblical perspective. We searched and searched until we stumbled upon The Talk: 7 Lessons to Introduce your Child to Biblical Sexuality.

Biblical Sex Education

This book recommends starting this talk with children ages 6 to 10 years old. That age bracket blew my mind but in reality your children will hear something about it during that age range. We wanted our kids to hear about it from us. We wanted them to have the correct view of sex and what it was created for.

We ended up going through this study with the girls when they were 10 yrs old. This is on the older age of the recommendation but that’s what worked for us. This book is everything we were looking for. Each study is wrapped into scripture. It’s perfect if you are giving your child a foundation of truth.

I encourage you to take your child through biblical sex education. You will know when your child is ready. I recommend that you and your spouse teach the study together. It let’s the child know that they can come to either one of you with any questions. It also show the oneness in your relationship.

The study is very straight forward. There are drawings of the male and female parts with explanations. The worst thing you can do is not teach your child directly. They will have distorted views of sex. Don’t be embarrassed either. The book explains how we as parents are actually more embarrassed then our kids will be.

This book is part of a 3 study series. We are currently on the last study. We ordered them as a set but they are available individually. Check out all 3 studies! I’ve listed the direct links below.

Disclosure: I purchased these books myself and have nothing but great things to say say about them. I was not compensated for my review. I did include my Amazon affiliate links in this post to help with my time if you decide to purchase. Have a Blessed day!
