Holy Bible

 

This chapter explains the meal offering.  Fine flour was mixed with oil and frankincense and made into a dough and baked unto the Lord. This offering was a sweet smelling savor offering. This offering was the work of man’s hand.

They had to plant and harvest the seed by hand. They had to grind the seed into flour. The olives had to be pressed by hand to get the oil.

Leaven and honey were never to be mixed with the flour. Leaven references sin in scripture causes a decay. Honey can also cause decay but represents a natural sweetness.

Salt was used to preserve the bread and add flavor.
