God gave the people the wisdom and abilities.

The Sabbath day was a covenant between God and the nation of Israel signifying that God wanted His people to rest in Him. The did nothing on the Sabbath day but still didn’t rest in Him.

Christ is the fulfillment of the Sabbath day. He is our rest and for those of us who are in Christ have a perpetual Sabbath. There is no work that we can offer God that can save us. We must accept Jesus Christ to be saved.
