Steps to a Healthier You

Lately, I’ve been changing things little by little to have a healthier lifestyle.  It hit me about 6 months ago that while I’m alive, I want to live my life to the fullest.  I have no control over God’s plan for my life but while I wait, I’d like to enjoy it :)!

I’ve always been the type that eats everything.  I guess after having kids and growing up a little I realized that my life is more precious then I thought. Now a days there’s so much garbage in our food and our air that it feels like we have no control over our health.  I did my research 6 months ago and found that you can change the way you feel by what you put in your body.

I know everyone gets caught up in different diets but they just fail you in the end. The only way to really make yourself healthier is to commit yourself to doing it.  If you really want to do it, you will.  I’ve narrowed down the four most important ways to make your body healthy.

  • GMO Free – GMO’s are plants or animals created through the gene splicing techniques of biotechnology (also called genetic engineering, or GE). This experimental technology merges DNA from different species, creating unstable combinations of plant, animal, bacterial and viral genes that cannot occur in nature or in traditional crossbreeding.
  • Proper Food Combining – The process of digesting each meal takes a great deal of energy so you want to increase your ability to digest or your “digestive fire.” The undigested food stays in your digestive tract and putrefies, creating a toxic environment that makes your blood more acidic and allows yeast, viruses, cancer cells and parasites to grow inside you. In essence, your inner ecosystem is damaged and you are more prone to illness.
  • Processed Foods – Chemicals, additives and preservatives are added to processed foods so that they will last for a long time without going rancid or affecting the taste of the food. Food manufacturers spend time, money and research on beautiful packaging and strategies to lengthen shelf-life, with little attention on how the foods will lengthen your life or create lasting health.
  • Exercise –  Activity requiring physical effort to improve health and fitness.

If you focus on these four things, you will notice an improvement in your health and feel better. In the last 6 months, I have kept myself focused on these things and have lost over 25 lbs and went for a size 10 to a size 6. I have to admit that I haven’t exercised much but I think I get a lot of exercise taking care of my kids.  You can read my My “Body Ecology Diet” Testimony to see my results. Id love to learn more about proper food combining. I haven't given it that much thought. I try to make my meals a protein veggie and starch...wonder if thats correct. :( We do try to avoid all processed foods though!

    The basic rule of thumb is to stay Alkaline. The best combination for your body is to always have veggie's with protein and don't have protein and starch together.

I'm really trying to make 2013 GMO and processed food FREE. Since we do all of the things you listed I think that'd be one huge hurdle to get over but a couple of them is doable.

I plan on trying to eat healthier this year. I am off to good start as I have not eaten out at all this year! I also plan on using my gym membership that I pay monthly for!
