Griffith Family

In just a few weeks, 2012 will come to an end.  That means it’s time for our family to plan our 2013 adventures. I love planning ahead of time so we can save up and allow ourselves enough time to invite friends and family.

As a mother of three, you can imagine how busy we get. Sure, the kids go to school but they enjoy fun activities on the weekend. Our weeks are pretty busy, the girls do gymnastics twice a week and have a bible study once a week.  So between school and after school activities, we only really have time to do outings on Saturday and Sunday.

Kids fishing

The top thing on my kids lists every year is fishing. We’ve been blessed to live near a lake and they love taking out our boat and catching some fish. We don’t keep the fish because we’re not big fish eaters but it’s fun to just catch them and put them back.  Sometimes our friends take out their boat and we fish together. Big Bear Lake is such a beautiful place to live.

Next on the list is camping. We usually take a few camping trips during the year. Sometimes we travel with friends and sometimes we travel with family.   The best part is staying up late and making S’mores.  Sure they get dirty when they camp but that’s another fun part for them. They love the sun and water and best of all hanging out with friends and family.

Kids at the Beach

Last but not least is spending time at the beach. The kids enjoy playing in the sand and looking for shells. It amazes me how much kids love sand. It’s one of the hardest things to get rid of. It takes a few good showers to get rid of it all.

These are just a few things we will be doing in 2013. What are some of the things you plan on doing?

I love the idea of a playdate adventure list each year, I may have to do that!

You're so lucky to have a lake like that. I would go fishing all summer long if I could. We actually do live next to a giant lake but the water is filthy.
