National Toy Store Day

We all love toys and usually need a toy for one occasion or another.  Neighborhood Toy Store Day is about setting some time aside to help celebrate the role that your local toy store plays in the community.  Let’s face it, it’s not easy to select the right innovative, exclusive and engaging toy to help your child grow and learn through play.Neighborhood Toy Day

Pictured above are just some of the amazing toys we were sent in celebration of Neighborhood Toy Store Day.  These are not just plain old toys, they’re toys that enable your child to learn through play.  Toys that have been hand selected by your local toy store for your specific community.

Buying from locally-owned businesses like toy stores that are members of the American Specialty Toy Retailing Association (ASTRA) ensures that more of your dollars stay in your community.

Here are just a few reasons you should shop locally:

  • Your community’s local character and prosperity thrive when you support its unique and diverse locally owned businesses.
  • Keeping your money in your local economy supports local jobs, funds more local services through sales tax, and invests in neighborhood improvement and development.
  • Locally owned businesses create more jobs locally and, in some cases, provide better wages and benefits than chains do.
  • An abundance of small locally owned businesses, each selecting its own product mix, guarantees a much wider range of product choices for everyone in the community.

Are you ready to celebrate? Join your local toys stores to celebrate Neighborhood Toy Store Day on November 10, 2012. To launch the holiday shopping season with community-minded fun, ASTRA members throughout the nation will host special events at their stores.

Not sure where a participating store is? You can find a location near you by entering your neighborhood zip code. Stay up to date with the latest news by following The WooHoo Factor on Facebook and The WooHoo Factor on Twitter!
