Jacob reminded God about His promise.
Jacob was trying to plan ways to get his brother’s forgiveness.
God crippled Jacob because he was a man of faith. However, Jacob thought God needed his help to get things done. God knew that Jacob needed to be defeated to rely on God and not himself.
