The word “serpent” in this chapter doesn’t mean snake in Hebrew, it’s more like a dragon.
Satan (I hate capitalizing this word but it’s the beginning of a sentence :)) tells Adam and Eve that God is not fair in withholding the knowledge of good and evil.
Eve was deceived but Adam just accepted it. Eve was led by lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and the pride of life. God knew that Adam and Eve were victims of their choices and were now in the bondage of death and darkness. Adam and Eve tried to blame others for their sins.
The first promise of the Messiah is spoken of in verse 15. Jesus is the seed of the woman (Mary) and he will destroy the head or authority of the power of satan by His death on the cross.
The first blood sacrifice is spoken of when God skinned animals to clothe Adam and Eve’s sin.
