Sardis is the dead Protestant church. They kept many of the holidays and pagan rituals from the churches of Pergamos and Thyatira after the reformation.

The Philadelphia church has a small amount of strength, emphasizes the importance of God’s word and doesn’t deny Jesus as the son of God. They are the faithful church in the last days.

God promises to keep the Tribulation from His church.

Jesus as the origin of God’s creation, is a creative force of God.

The Laodiceans trusted in materialism and are therefore lukewarm.  Jesus said they were naked and poor but they thought they were rich and secure.

The lukewarm church can be cured by chastening, repent and to open their hearts to God.
