Courageous

Friday night we decided to go to Blockbuster Express and rent Courageous. I knew that the kids were too young to watch Courageous but we’ve been waiting a long time to see it. We figured we would eat dinner with the kids and when they went to bed, we would watch the movie.

I started out our evening by heading to Blockbuster Express and renting the movie. The closest Blockbuster Express is located in Vons. This isn’t the first time I’ve rented from Blockbuster Express but I’ve strayed away a little because they increased their pricing.  I decided to give it another try.  They had a promo code available for a $1 off but silly me forgot to use it.  I recommend you follow Blockbuster Express on Facebook and Blockbuster Express on Twitter to stay up to date with any upcoming promo codes.

Blockbuster Express

The rental process is really easy at Blockbuster Express. I ended up successfully renting the movie and then headed to Stater Bros to get some groceries for dinner.  I decided to make “Poncho Salads” because we had left over steak and it’s a great way to use it. It’s basically a steak salad with a tostada and refried beans on the bottom.

Dinner

We enjoyed our yummy salad as a family and then we waited until the kids went to bed to watch Courageous. I’ve known for a long time that I wanted to watch it but just couldn’t find the time. A friend suggested we watch it after the kids go to bed and it sounded perfect!

Courageous is a movie based on Biblical Principles about a fathers role in the lives of his children.  The movie is rated PG-13 but that is simply because it shows things that go on in the world today that aren’t appropriate for children. I cried during most of the movie because it’s so sad to see the consequences of people that don’t follow God. Not that bad things won’t happen to you as a believer but because satan lures people into to such bad sin.

The movie is amazing and I’m so happy it made it into the theaters because so many people need to hear it.  If you don’t accept the Lord as your Savior, you will learn the hard way that you should. It’s sad to see people that never see the light. I highly recommend this movie to anyone, it will make a huge impact on your life. I don’t think children under 13 should see it because of some of the violence. I chose for my kids not to see it because I don’t think they need to know about certain things, they’re only 7 and 3 years old.

I documented my entire shopping experience at BlockBuster Express and Stater Bros on my Google + page.  Click this Date Night In link to check it out!

Have you seen Courageous? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
