Happy New Year! It’s the first day of 2012 and people all over the world are dealing with a prediction that the world will end this year. It amazes me that so many people actually believe it. If people would start reading the #1 Best Selling Book of all time, the Bible, they can be assured that this won’t happen.
This whole prediction started based upon the Mayan Calendar. The Mayan Calendar shows that on December 21, 2012 there will be a new beginning. Many people have taken this out of context and are saying the world is going to end. The Mayans on the other hand have said that there is nothing that predicts the end of the world on the Mayan Calendar.
It’s being predicted that the world will end with something like an asteroid strike, a comet striking the Earth and many other disasters. I truly believe that all these things are a possibility and scientific research shows events leading up to this type of destruction. My beliefs are based on how these topics are discussed in books of the Bible (Revelation, 1 Thessalonians, 2 Peter).
Matthew 24: 3-36 describes these types of events and tells us that no one will know the day or hour that these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven. It’s clear that only the Father (God) will know when it will take place.
We can expect to see a huge push towards One World Religion. You can already see it starting:
- Anti-Bible
- Anti-Jesus
- Anti-Christian
- Tolerance of everything except Christianity
- Emphasis on Social Justice
- A cashless system
We’re being set up to worship one person, the antichrist. No one knows when the antichrist will be revealed so your going to want to make sure you know your Bible.
If your concerned about the end of the world, you should prep for it! We all know that death will happen to everyone. Wouldn’t you rather spend eternity with God?
Here’s what you can do now:
- Turn from sin.
- Confess your sins.
- Believe that Jesus is the Christ crucified for you and is risen, alive and ready to serve you.
John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

January 2, 2012 @ 13:15That was a really great post. I think this will be an ongoing topic this year for many. You gave a great starting place and an even better way to find peace through Christ. There was a group that predicted the world would end last year. Groups like that seem to pop up like that from time to time. I wrote about it and my post has a very similar them to yours. You can check it out at http://marriedtoministers.blogspot.com/2011/05/warning-end-of-world-is-may-21s-oh.html Thanks again

January 14, 2012 @ 20:19Great post! The Bible clearly states that no one knows the day or the hour (except God) when Jesus will be returning to earth to rapture the born again believers of Christ.

January 15, 2012 @ 20:50Well said, While I know that the world will not end in 2012 based on the Word of God, I do have this stirring in my spirit that the Rapture of the church is very near. That then will usher in the reveal of the anti-Christ and will start the tribulation. Then that will lead into the events necessary to finally experience when God will create a new heaven and a new earth. So exciting! It's an honor to be a Christian in these last days! So to fellow believers, spend each day as though it's your last and never mess an opportunity that the Holy Spirit puts before you to share His Love, His Grace and His Son! Be Blessed!
