This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walgreens. All opinions are 100% mine.

Effective January 1, 2012, Walgreens and Express Scripts have been unable to come to an agreement on a new contract . As a result, Walgreens is no longer a pharmacy provider for Express Scripts.  This includes all Walgreens pharmacies nationwide and Duane Reade pharmacies in the New York City area.

Pharmacy patients are now being forced to go to another in-network pharmacy which is really inconvenient. Not only will they have to change their pharmacist, many will have to drive a further distance. I personally use Walgreens for my prescriptions and I love their service. I’ve used previous pharmacies including CVS and have never been happy. I used to wait over an hour for a prescription to be filled. The great part about Walgreens is that they not only have great service but they offer more 24-hour and drive through pharmacies then any other pharmacy in the country.

The good news is that Walgreens understands the inconvenience this is causing and is offering an amazing deal on their Prescription Savings Club.  For $10 a year, a family membership covers everyone in your immediate family, including a spouse, dependents 22 and younger and pets. Individuals may join for $5. Check out all the details for the Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens and get signed up. Hurry! This special offer expires January 31, 2012. Stay up to date on all the latest news by following Walgreens on Twitter and Walgreens on Facebook.

Big business power plays like this irritate me on a good day, but when they directly affect people's health, I start to boil. Shame on you Express Scripts.
