God has rest for us and when we enter into it, we are able to relax.
The children of Israel entered into rest too late.
God rested after he created the world.
Jesus came to finish the work of redemption on the cross (John 4:34; 19:30; Isaiah 53:6-10; 2 Corinthians 5:21).
The righteousness of Christ is given to us because of our belief in what he has done (Phillipians 3:8,9). We don’t need struggle and labor to increase our righteousness.
The children of Israel are an example of unbelief, they couldn’t go into God’s rest because of their unbelief.
We need God’s word to help us to know ourselves and our motivations (John 15:7; Psalm 119:9, 139:1-6; Matthew6:1-8)
Jesus has mercy on us because as a man, he knew the temptations we face. He was tempted by satan beyond any man has ever experienced (Matthew 4:1-11)
