The purpose of the law was to show man their sins.

Our new covenant with God is based upon our belief in his righteousness.

We as Christians struggle with the conflict of the flesh and the spirit. We’re trying to make our flesh conform with the will of God. Our spirit wants to obey him but our flesh tries to satisfy itself. Our spirit struggles with the desires of our flesh.

Through Jesus we don’t have to be defeated by the flesh.
