Did you know you can be a missionary online? I didn’t know you could and then I was introduced to Global Media Outreach. I’ve been an online missionary for about a year now and love it. I love to help others but I’ve never wanted to physically take a missions trip. When I heard you can help people all over the world receive Christ from your computer, I was hooked!
The first step is a pretty intense screening because they need to make sure you have the correct beliefs. After you pass the screening, which can take a few weeks, they’ll set you up with training for a few weeks. After you complete this process you will be on your way.
Here’s a little breakdown of how it works:
- Step One: Lead them to the Savior. Over 2 million people conduct spiritual searches through the Internet each day. Our websites help them to find Jesus.
- Step Two: Nurture them in Faith. By providing discipleship web sites and Christian connection, GMO helps believers grow in their journey with Jesus.
- Step Three: Connect them to Church. Connecting online and on the ground through the local church. More than 3,000 online missionaries respond to emails every day.
It only takes a few minutes a day or less to help other receive the Lord. You can set how often you’d like to receive emails. It’s truly a blessing to bless others. Click this GMO link to check out the sign up process.

July 16, 2011 @ 14:16Our church has supported Campus Crusades, from which GMO was launched, forever. /So when I heard of it I jumped in, too. It was at a time when my ministry, I'd worked with kids and teens for many years, had to end because of my failing health and I was so bummed. I forgot about the testing, it's been so long. Nice to know another missionary online! Janet
