The prophecy of the destruction of the temple was fulfilled in forty years from the time Jesus spoke of it.

Jesus starts to describe the way the world will be before his second coming. Verse 7 specifically indicates world war. Verse 14 refers to Revelation 14:6-7,  that an angel will preach the entire gospel to the world in every language.

Verse 16 -20 is addressed to the Jews. The Jews will be God’s elect nation because the church will be raptured by the time these prophecies are fulfilled. Revelation 6-19 has all the details on the Great Tribulation.We’ve seen several false prophets in recent years.

Everyone will mourn because they rejected Jesus. The Jews will be tremendously saddended because they didn’t recognize their Messiah.

The nation of Israel is referred to as a fig tree.  We should always be doing what God has called us to do.
