Holy Bible

I want to start this out by saying, Thank You!  The fellowship of this bible study keeps me focused. I can’t tell you how many times things have interfered with me posting these post. Right now I’m going through a hard time in my life and I know it’s temporary and I know God is greater then my pain.  Thanks for joining me on this amazing journey. Very soon I will be posting my testimony and would love to hear everyone’s too!

Moses and Elijah represent the Old Testament, their presence indicates that the Old Testament scripture has been looking forward to the Messiah. God spoke out of a cloud saying “This is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased”. God spoke these exact words at Jesus’ baptism.

Jesus asked the disciples not to tell anyone about the transfiguration until he was risen from the dead. This was because Israel had an incorrect concept of him, they expected a conquering king.

The disciples were confused about the reference to Jesus’ death because they did not recognize Elijah (John The Baptist) when he came. Jesus speaks of his death and resurrection again but the disciples still can’t comprehend this happening.

Jesus explains that he was free from paying the temple tax because the temple belonged to him as the son of God. He also implies that his disciples were free from paying the tax too.

This is an open discussion, feel free to leave a comment or question.
