John The Baptist was already beheaded so Herod thought the works of Jesus was a resurrected John The Baptist. Jesus’ miracle of feeding the crowd fulfills several expectations in the Old Testament.

Jesus walks on water and allows Peter to walk on water. This help the disciples learn that they can do anything with the power of Jesus.
