John The Baptist was in prison when he heard the works of Jesus. John wasn’t sure that Jesus was the Messiah because he thought Jesus was going to immediately establish his kingdom and judge Israel.

The people questioned John’s commitment to Jesus because  of John’s uncertainty. Jesus reassured them that John was his messenger, he was sent to prepare the way.

Jesus pronounces a direct judgment on Israel. Chorazin was a village a few miles north of Capernum and Bethsaida was about three miles east. Both of these cities witnessed Jesus’ ministry and will be judged for rejecting him. We learned earlier that Capernum is Jesus’  city and the base of his ministry.
