Holy Bible

I’m really excited about starting our journey together. There are some “First Steps” we should take before we start our Bible study. I love the Lord but that doesn’t mean I do everything I should to help my spiritual growth. I did some research and there are four important things we should be doing to grow spiritually.

  • Prayer: We need to talk to God. We need to ask for forgiveness and repent. Anytime we have concerns we should talk to God. Did you know scripture tells us to pray? (We’ll find that scripture soon.)
  • Read: Studying the Bible will keep us strong and help us to apply it to our lives. The Bible is also known as the “User’s Manual Of Life”. Everything we want to know about God and how to please him is in the Bible.
  • Church: God wants us to be in fellowship with other believers. Church is a great place for this, it keeps us spiritually active.
  • Witness: God commands us to share our faith with other people. Our mission in life is to lead people to Jesus Christ.

After reviewing these four important things, I feel like I do a little of each one. I also feel that I can do a lot more than I’m doing. I pray, I read my Bible sometimes, I attend my church (sometimes I’d rather not) and I witness. The way I witness is by displaying my love for the Lord. I haven’t actually gone out and led someone to Jesus Christ.

What about you? How do you feel? What do you think of these four important things? Do you think there is anything to add?

To Be Continued Tuesday, 8/24/10 …….

I am loving your site. I really enjoy the Religion part of it. So inspiring. I to have not done the Bible in a year thing, due to the fact that I like doing studies, like books, topics, people. I have read the Bible through though many times, as I am an avid reader. Glad to be a part of the Follow tour with you. Have a Blessed day.
